Directions for Submission of an Article

MGS Members are encouraged to publish Articles on our MGS Website. Web Publishing can get your special or new information into the world wide genealogical community via web browsing. Today's web based search engines can quickly lead researchers to your material.  The maximum length of an article is recommended at  3 pages, unless you've contacted the webmaster prior to submission.

Suggested Subject Matter: A member presents some results of his/her research, and includes some interesting information related to the member/researcher, or a "brickwall" solution with details, or new information on your ancestors and their relationships, migrations, burials, etc., or interesting and enlightening facts extracted from tax, court, deed or probate records. Use your imagination on subject matter!

Sources and References: Please give credit, where credit is due. Be sure to include author, title, publication information, and page numbers. If citing an internet resource, provide complete web address and the date viewed. Respect living individuals. Follow generally accepted guidelines by  the National Genealogical Society - NGS.

How to Submit Your Contribution: Your Article should be "ready" for publication. Submit a "print ready" PDF file or use MS Word with digital images (if any) imbedded in the file (i.e. pictures placed in appropriate locations within the text body).  Your Article will be converted to an Adobe Arobat PDF file for publishing on the MGS website. At the top of your first page, please be sure to include: title, subtitle (if appropriate), author (you), and author's  (your) e-mail address. Submit your Article via email to the MGS Webmanager at webmanager@mgsfl.org with the subject heading "MGS Member Article" .
