Mission / Purpose

 

The Society was formed to promote individual and community awareness in genealogy, family history and allied fields of study, conduct genealogical meetings, workshops and seminars, and sponsor projects to promote and preserve genealogical knowledge. For example, "Tombstone Inscriptions in Cemeteries of Manatee County, FL 1850 - 1980". and other MGS material available on this website.

General Information

Membership: Any person with an interest in genealogy, family history or allied fields of study may become a member of the Society upon acceptance and payment of dues. Dues are currently $20 for an individual, and $25 for a family couple.  GO JOIN

 

Benefits of Membership: Regular meetings & workshops, publish research and general interest articles on the MGS Website, learn from other members and their experiences, and share research knowledge and methods (just to name a few).

 

Meetings:  Our General Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of the month. We are meeting virtually through the fall.  The regular location is the Auditorium of the Manatee County Central Public Library, 1301 Barcarrota Boulevard West,  Bradenton,  FL 34205.
