A NEW RESOURCE ADDED TO MGS WEBSITE
 LOCATING OBITUARIES

If you are interested in locating obituaries published in our local area, we have added an Obituaries page. The principal objective is to provide a community resource for researchers. These data are available to both members and nonmembers.

The Manatee County Historical Records Library prepared logs of obituary data taken directly from local newspaper listings. These local area obituary logs are based on data from about 1960 to 2023, primarily from the Bradenton Herald. For more information on locating obituaries and for accessing the logs, you will find access on our website main menu bar (column on the left) at Obituaries. Try it out.

Regional Genealogical Activities

In addition to the Manatee Genealogical Society, there are a number of Genealogical Societies that are within reasonable driving distances. These organiziation hold regular meetings and have programs tailored to the interests of genealogical researchers. We encourage you to use our Regional Society Links page and open the organization's website and check-out events that fit your research needs. Also, local societies sponsor special events like seminars and workshops, for example. Explore the Society Links page and check out our Regional Events page.
