This index can help a researcher determine if ancestors or parties of interest are included in the total book compilation. The book index totals 89 pages and represents well over 8,000 surnames.
CEMETERIES SURVEYED FOR THE MGS COMPILATION PROJECT
A total of 35 cemeteries or burial areas in Manatee County (representing burials from 1850 to 1980) were surveyed for death information and tombstone inscriptions. Thirty white and five Black Cemeteries were included in the project. These cemeteries are described below. The Tombstones, also a project of MGS, is listed after this section of Cemeteries
